the biggest challenge of my day is to get through a gallon of water?

It’s almost my birthday. I think a great birthday present would be hitting a small milestone for me: Hitting 5,000 followers

Here’s to the big 25 and letting go of 125 pounds.

On my busy days when food isn’t always available I make sure to load up on a big breakfast to fuel me. Half a grapefruit with some fresh raspberries. Paleo toast with sugar free jam. Egg white omelette with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and a bit of Parmesan. #breakfast #cleaneating #healthy #easymeal #meal #meals #fitblr #foodie #foodporn

It's voila. Not Wa la. It's french.

My answer:

No, it’s Wa La. It’s Bre.

I live in Texas and was raised by a cowboy so one of our favorite comfort meals was a chicken fried steak. My favorite thing about clean eating? You can always find a clean or cleaner version of your favorite comfort foods without sacrificing taste.
Chicken Fried Steak
➡️Protein source (pictured is actually fresh venison steaks from my families hunt. You can use steak or chicken) ➡️1-2 cups of whole wheat bread crumbs ➡️2-3 eggs ➡️1 cup of flour (your choice, you can use whole wheat flour) ➡️seasonings to taste: sea salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic or use things such as Mrs Dash or Flavorgod ➡️1-2 cups of unsweetened plain almond milk ➡️2 tbs of Ghee or butter ➡️2 tbs of additional flour ➡️additional salt and pepper
DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees 2. Take a plate and mix 1/2 seasonings with flour 3. Take a second plate and mix the breadcrumbs with the rest of the seasoning 4. Take the eggs and beat in a bowl 5. Take your protein and dip into flour mixture, then dip in egg, let it run off any excess egg, then dip into breadcrumbs to completely coat your protein. 6. Place “steaks” on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes turning halfway through cooking time. You can turn on the broiler the last few minutes for an extra crisp.
While the “steaks” are baking, take your ghee or butter and melt on medium high in a sauce pan. Once it’s melted and bubbling well, add in the 2tbs of flour stirring it vigorously with a fork until it’s turning to a paste, but making sure to keep the lumps out. When a paste begins to form add about 1/4 cup of almond milk while continuing to stir to keep it from clumping. Turn up the heat to make sure the mixture continues to boil, slowly stir in the remaining milk, once boiling, reduce heat to low and salt and pepper your gravy to your liking and let simmer until your steaks are done stirring frequently

We are throwing my grandmother a surprise birthday party in January because she turns 90

I want to give her something really awesome, and somehow incorporate photos of her life and family, whether it’s mode podging it to something, but I don’t know what. I want it to be something useful, but my grandma isn’t the typical cookie baking sweet grandma, she’s the badass drinking, cursing and demanding martinis at her slot machine kind of grandma.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

Also keep in mind I would have to most likely ship this to her party because we don’t live in the same state anymore.

Anonymous Asked:
how did u do it because it becomes so hard for most of us

My answer:

Nothing worth a damn is ever easy, just remember that.

What you have to remember is you’re never going to be given a perfect situation — The weather might not be just right to work out, a ton of clean food might not be exactly in your budget, you might not get the recommended 8-9 hours of sleep a night, you might stub your toe, sprain an ankle, get sick, your workout partner might cancel on you, you may have to work overtime, a group project in school might take longer and cut into your gym time

Whatever it may be you just have to work with it and focus on ways to be successful and adapt. ADAPT, don’t just give up.

What people fail to realize is we make SO MANY THINGS PRIORITIES whether it’s hanging with friends, going out, saving money for vacations, and yet usually our health, which ultimately defines what we are able to do with out lives, is put on the back burner.

The sad sad truth is the world is only going to make it harder: processed food, fast food, basically all this food and additives created in laboratories aren’t ever going to go away so it’s important to fight back and take care of yourself now. The key to success is taking baby steps.

Don’t overwhelm yourself by going to extremes—don’t just go to the gym everyday for a week 3 hours a day, eat nothing but chicken and broccoli and then when the weeks over you’re like i hate my life, this is hard and miserable, give me a bucket of ice cream. Be gradual, slow and build healthy habits that you can stick with and you won’t fall off the wagon and you will see results.
