But if you have the opportunity to walk into a cancer center I suggest you take the opportunity.
As much as it is heartbreaking it was a reminder of how blessed I am and how important it is to take care of yourself.
I know not all things can be prevented but I truly do believe in everything you consume you are either feeding or fighting disease.
It’s a reminder to take care of yourself and take advantage of the power you do have to do your best to take care of the one body you’re given.
YOU REALLY THINK A FUCKIN PANCAKE IS GONNA FIX THIS HEATHER
I know I haven’t really posted anything fitness related the past few days but just wanted to say thank you again to everyone for the kind messages, support and prayers going out to my man while he goes through his chemotherapy.
much love <3
Recovering from Chemo
Dogs know when you need a friend.
They both melt my heart.

I don’t ever get mushy gushy but my man deserves some credit.
He had his first treatment of chemotherapy yesterday
We walked out of the hospital and he still went to my car door and opened it for me.
This afternoon when I was leaving him and had to go to work he walked me outside and opened my car door again.
Tonight I had to stay at work late and he called me hungry and had been waiting for me so we met for a late dinner at 9. While at dinner I talked about going to the grocery store so we didn’t have to spend money eating out all the time. He told me “yeah, but you’ve had a long day at work and I wanted to take you out”
Seriously people chivalry is not dead and great guys still exist. He’s battling cancer and still being a gentlemen.
No excuses to settle for anything less.
I went through chemo when I was little, started at age 5. I wish him the best in his treatment and recovery. Having a strong support system behind you always makes a huge difference and I can tell he has that.
Thank you for your kind words. So far he has been very lucky for the given situation.
The doctors caught it early — only stage 1 and they also said after he had his surgery that most patients have 5 straight days of chemotherapy, but looking at the results of the cells and his recovery so far that 1 heavier dose (possibly two, but so far just the one) should be enough to get him where he needs to be.
This first week should be the hardest but he is a super popular guy (heck he got 125 likes on a photo of us at dinner haha) so I know he has a whole army behind him!
So glad I have such a good guy and such supportive friends to help me surprise him with a photo collage of his friends holding up a #TeamWoot sign.
Hoping this is his only chemo treatment.
Thank you everyone for all the kind messages and support.
It’s all about mindset and I’ve never met anyone more positive and ready to keep living life than this guy.
Kickin Cancers Ass
I think his relaxer was definitely kicking in haha.
Last night I took my man to the Rangers game so he could get in one game before he started his Chemo treatment this morning.
You got this boo

Snacks: hard boiled eggs or small salad made of baby spinach and topped with chopped Cajun skirt steak and served with either diced avocado and yogurt ranch or homemade creamy avocado dressing
Lunch: choice of teriyaki chicken or Cajun grilled skirt steak with brown rice/quinoa mixture
Dinner: choice of teriyaki chicken or marinated sliced ribeye and side of broccoli.
Yes, this week I am upping my fat intake a bit since I have been lower than normal on my carbs. (A serving of oatmeal for breakfast and this rice has been about it) So that is why I’m not fussing over red meat. Next week it will be back to chicken/fish/turkey
Meal prepping not only keeps me on track, less stressed about food—thinking where my next meal will come from, wether it will be healthy, if I’ll have enough time to cook, how hungry I may be and will I give in to unhealthy food because I just can’t wait on a meal, etc. But meal prepping also allows me to have no excuses by being 60 seconds to reheat and enjoy. It’s also pretty easy on dishes.
Since it’s only 60 seconds to reheat it also gives me the options to make changes if I wanted and time allowed.
For example on the skirt steak lunches if I have the time I may throw some sliced pepper and onions in a skillet and mix with the rice and top with my avocado cream sauce and I will have a tortilla-less fajita.
It’s the little things that go a long way.
Need to remember this.
Set backs are set ups for come backs.
